Southwest Airlines

During my time at AMP Agency, I led the organic social function for one of the agency’s largest accounts – Southwest Airlines. My role included social strategy and execution, content planning and development, and influencer campaign management across 3-5 tentpole campaigns annually. Below are a few campaigns spanning 2018 - 2021.

SWA x Community Coffee #DestinationCoffee Campaign

To promote a newly-launched nonstop flight route, Southwest Airlines and their in-flight beverage partner Community Coffee asked Instagram users to share who they’d like to travel to Costa Rica with for a chance to win the adventure of a lifetime, using the hashtag #DestinationCoffee. This sweepstakes was promoted through social posts, e-blasts and a branded video showcasing the activities that the winners would experience. Two winners (and their coffee dates) were selected to fly Southwest Airlines to Costa Rica to learn all about coffee and spend quality time with each other.

In addition to social strategy and execution, I traveled to Costa Rica to host the winners in-person, ensuring a positive guest experience with social-first content capture along the way.

SWA x Dr. Pepper “Friendsgiving” Campaign

To celebrate the spirit of giving back during the holidays, Southwest Airlines collaborated with in-flight beverage partner Dr Pepper and macro influencer Dani Austin to host a sweepstakes Friendsgiving-themed trip to Austin, TX. One winner and five friends flew SWA to Austin for a Friendsgiving dinner hosted at a luxurious vacation rental, plus a full weekend of activities with their favorite social media personality.

In addition to social strategy and execution, content planning and development, and influencer management, I traveled to Austin to host Dani and the winners in-person, ensuring a positive guest experience with social-first content capture along the way.

50th Anniversary Campaign

Founded by Southwest Airlines in 2021 to mark their 50th anniversary, National Wanna Get Away Day is celebrated annually to encourage spontaneous travel, celebrate the freedom to explore, and reconnect with loved ones. We conceptualized and kicked off the first annual celebration with 360-social promotion and a commemorative Rapid Rewards Points sweepstakes.
